Convenient Location 🌳
This place is situated in a lovely garden area, making it super handy with the main shopping area and malls just a short walk away. I also enjoyed some delicious meals at the beach restaurant nearby.

It was just steps away from the beach and the town center and yet completely tranqil on a not so busy street. We loved our room--206, with it's view of rooftops. We thought the overall decor of the hotel very tasteful and the outside breakfast patio lovely. The hosts spoke English and were very helpful. It was easy to drop off our bags and the parking was convenient and safe. We recommend the hotel and would return. Next to Paris, it was our priciest stay in our month long trip but we felt it was worth it.
We liked everything.

The hotel is so conveniently placed - just a short stroll to the beach and the shops and restaurants. It is a family business and the personal touch makes one feel very at home. The room we stayed in was well furnished, the bed exceptionally comfortable and the cleanliness cannot be faulted. La Marisa's main asset is its fabulous staff. We arrived very late and they were very helpful regarding this - but just generally, they were bright, friendly and exceptionally helpful. We enjoyed the flower filled patio in the afternoon sunshine and were grateful for the loan of an umbrella when it rained. A great little hotel.
La Marisa is not alone in charging extra for breakfast. It is probably in line with every other hotel in the town. Although the breakfast was served with great charm by the staff , we thought it was a little overpriced - and the food on offer - yogurt , bread basket and jams and a small dish of fresh fruit , with coffee and packet orange juice and a small sweet cake - although lovely , did not represent value for money.( Ie no cereal, no cheese or ham etc ) But I don't think this is a cynical overpriced breakfast .... it's just the way it is in such a popular holiday town. But La marisa could maybe vary it a bit , so that people staying for a week get a bit of variety for their 12 euros.

Relativley small, historic French seaside town in Basque country. Very walkable with numerous shops and restaurants. Ocean beach. Relatvley short drives to other coastal attractions - Biarritz and Bilbao.
Not really a complaint but as with most old French hotels, rooms are small.

Marvellous and FANTASTIC location, restaurants and golf courses a short walk to the hotel. And blocks from the beach.

poor quality croissant and bread. Street noise disturbing us at night. No extractor fan in the ensuite.

Everything. Just one night at the end of November. Poor weather. You can sense what a great place for a summer holiday this will be.

The staff went out of their way to welcome us and it is located in a perfect spot from which to explore the charm of the town - a stone's throw from the beach and shops / bars / restaurants, yet nestled away on a quiet street, with an alluring glimpse of the sparkly sea from our room. Perfect.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a lovely hotel in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. the staff at this hotel were exceptional. From the moment I arrived, they were friendly, helpful, and eager to ensure that my stay was nothing short of perfect. Their attention to detail really stood out, making me feel valued as a guest. Secondly, the location of this hotel was superb. Situated just a stone's throw away from the beach, it provided a wonderful sense of tranquility in the midst of a bustling resort. Additionally, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, with a charming French country feel. And let's not forget the impeccable bathrooms, complete with a relaxing bath and some even offering breathtaking views. Finally, the inclusion of breakfast was a great bonus, starting each day off on the right foot.
Everything was top-notch, couldn't ask for more.

Hotel La Marisa has very charming owners, and the feel of the place is really more like a b & b. Well located, it is just off the sea front, and close to some good shopping.
The car park is 150 yds away and the hotel issue a card which must be returned after you leave the car park. This is really inconvenient, given the congestion and one way system of St Jean de Luz. We did think the hotel was very expensive for the facilities on offer, and I struggled to relate what we found with the glowing reviews. I could not help feeling that there must be other hotels in St Jean de Luz with better facilities for the price.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
